Obama Web Video: Make Sure That My 2008 Supporters ‘Stand Together Once Again’ (VIDEO)
President Obama has posted a new Web video on his campaign’s YouTube account, imploring his supporters to remobilize in this year’s midterm elections the base of voters who helped him win in 2008.

“It will be up to each of you to make sure that the young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women who powered our victory in 2008 stand together once again,” said Obama. “It will be up to each of you to keep our nation moving forward, to keep working to fix Washington, to keep growing our economy, and to keep building a fairer, stronger and more just America.”

Obama’s Day Ahead
President Obama and Vice President Biden will receive the presidential daily briefing at 9:3 a.m. ET, and the economic daily briefing at 10 a.m. ET. Obama will meet at 10:40 a.m. ET with senior advisers. At 3 p.m. ET, he will welcome the World Series Champion New York Yankees to the White House. Obama and Biden will meet at 4:30 p.m. ET with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. At 6 p.m. ET, Obama will deliver remarks at the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship.

Today: Key Vote On Financial Regulation
The Senate is expected to vote today on a motion to proceed with financial reform, which would require at least one Republican in order to reach 60 votes. The Washington Post reports: “Republican and Democratic aides said they expect the Monday vote to fail unless at least one GOP senator supports the measure. Not that either side would mind terribly: Democrats could say the GOP is standing in the way of reform, and Republicans could say the bill’s flaws would cause the economy more harm than good. Still, the measure’s long-term prospects seem promising. Aides on both sides said they expect it to remain in limbo until Shelby and Dodd strike a deal or end talks.”

Reid Sees Only Victory in Regulatory Vote
Roll Call reports that Senate Democrats are planning on a public relations push against Republicans, if today’s cloture vote on the motion to proceed with financial reform is blocked by the GOP. “You can expect the Democratic leadership to allow Republicans to suffer the slings and arrows of the media for a few days,” said a senior Senate Democratic aide. “If this vote fails, these [Republicans] are going to get pounded.”

Unions Wait To See Citizens United Fix
The Hill reports that major unions are waiting to take a position on the proposed legislative fixes to the Citizens United decision — a bill that could potentially affect unions as well as corporations. “We are not making a decision about the bill until we see final legislative language,” said an SEIU spokesman. “While there are portions of the bill we support, there are other parts that do not go far enough.”

Bush’s Book Due Out November 9
