Obama: We’ll Give GOP A Ride, ‘But We’re Not Gonna Let You Drive’
Speaking at a fundraiser last night for Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), President Obama continued his metaphor likening the Republicans to people who drove a car into a ditch. “If you wanna get in we’ll give you a ride,” said Obama, according to the pool report. “But we’re not gonna let you drive.”

Obama’s Day Ahead
President Obama will tour Solyndra, Inc., a solar panel manufacturing facility in Fremont, California, at 12:35 a.m. ET. He will deliver remarks on the economy at 1:20 p.m. ET. He will depart from San Francisco at 2:15 p.m. ET, arriving at Andrews Air Force Base at 6:55 p.m. ET, and at the White House at 7:10 p.m. ET.

Biden’s Day Ahead
Vice President Biden and White House Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes will hold a Middle Class Task Force roundtable at 11:30 a.m. ET, with with small business employers and employees from around the country. Biden will meet at 12:45 p.m. ET with International President of the United Steelworkers Leo Gerard. He will meet with senior advisers in the afternoon. At 5:30 p.m. ET, he will host a reception at the Naval Observatory in honor of firefighters and law enforcement officials from across the country.

Hillary Clinton: ‘We’re Very Confident In The South Korean Leadership’
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met with South Korean leaders, and told reporters that the United States would support their decisions in how to move forward after the sinking of their warship the Cheonan, which has been attributed to the North Koreans. “We’re very confident in the South Korean leadership, and their decision about how and when to move forward is one that we respect and will support,” said Clinton, declining to give a timeline.

Geithner In Europe For Economic Crisis Talks
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner is in Europe, meeting with leaders there to discuss reactions to the Greek debt crisis and worldwide financial regulation as a whole. “I’m going to meet the new UK government to prepare for the next stage of global financial reform — on the heels of what we expect to be a quick passage of U.S. reforms — to emphasize the importance of a carefully designed global approach, and to discuss developments in Europe,” Geithner told reporters.

GOPer Rossi To Announce Senate Bid Against Washington State’s Patty Murray
Former Washington state legislator Dino Rossi is set to announce today that he is running for Senate against Democratic incumbent Patty Murray. Rossi previously ran for governor in 2004, losing in a super-close race that involved two recounts and litigation. He ran again in 2008, seeking a rematch with Democratic Gov. Christine Gregoire, losing by a more significant 53%-47% margin.

K Street Warms Up To Would-Be Speaker Boehner
Roll Call reports that lobbyists are working to improve K Street’s relationship with Republicans, in anticipation of Republican gains in the House, including advising clients to donate to GOP members. “House Republicans will matter more in November because we are going to pick up quite a few seats,” said lobbyist Marc Lampkin, a former Boehner Congressional aide. “Being bullish on Republicans in the House is a good investment right now.”
