Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA) has a new ad in the Pennsylvania Senate race, highlighting his prior career of military service. And in an interesting sign of the anti-incumbent environment in this election, Sestak’s ad does not ever mention that he has been a member of Congress for the last two terms.

“Duty. Service. Joe Sestak has lived his life by those values. Thirty-one years protecting America,” says the announcer, accompanied by video clips of Sestak in his Navy days. “Leading the fight against terrorism. Trusted to command 15,000 of our sons and daughters in combat. Now he’s running to serve Pennsylvania — standing up to the bosses in both parties. A decorated veteran, fighting for us. Admiral Joe Sestak.”

The TPM Poll Average gives Republican former Rep. Pat Toomey a lead of 46.3%-39.6%.
