In a press conference this afternoon, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) demurred a bit on Sen. Arlen Specter’s (D-PA) chances to win today’s Democratic primary in Pennsylvania against Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA).

“As far as Pennsylvania,” said Reid, “we have two good candidates up there.”

On Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s (D) chances in Arkansas, Reid was much more explicit:

The situation in Arkansas is quite unique. It appears very clear to me that Senator Lincoln’s going to win, whether–I think she has a real shot of winning today.

Reid’s comments are the latest indication that the Democratic establishment has lost some confidence in Specter, due to Sestak’s recent gains in an already tight race.

The TPM Poll Average for today’s Democratic Senate primary in Pennsylvania shows Sestak leading Specter 45.6% to 42.6%.
