Former North Dakota GOP Chairman Gary Emineth, who is considering challenging a beleaguered Michael Steele for his job leading the Republican National Committee, appeared on Fox News today to hit Steele for “mismanagement” and for continuing “to make these gaffes at inappropriate times.”

Steele has been feeling some pressure to resign after his recent remark that the war in Afghanistan is a war of “Obama’s choosing.”

On Fox And Friends, Emineth said that his “concern is that Chairman Steele continues to make these gaffes at inappropriate times,” and that while the RNC should be focusing on its midterm election candidates, instead they “seem to spend time defending Chairman Steele.”

He added: “I believe that there’s mismanagement going on,” and that “Chairman Steele has not focused on the right priorities.”

Yesterday, Emineth told the AP that he’d consider running against Steele when his two-year term is up in January.
