Just a few days after his rousing keynote address at CPAC, a new poll shows Marco Rubio extending his lead over Gov. Charlie Crist in the the GOP Senate primary in Florida.

The latest numbers from Rasmussen, taken in Florida on the day of the Feb. 18 CPAC keynote, show Rubio dominating Crist, 54-36.

Rubio’s lead over Crist has grown in recent weeks, with several polls now showing him ahead in the race. In Washington for the National Governor’s Association meeting this weekend, Crist told a reporter from Politico that he still has time to make up the different and take back the primary most observers said was his to lose just a few months ago.

“I think the voters of Florida know who I am, what I stand for, and what I believe in, and know that my record matches it,” Crist told Politco‘s Alex Isenstadt. “I don’t think they know that about my opponent yet, and the next six months gives the media and our campaign the opportunity to let the people see what’s real and what’s not.”
