California Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner has a new ad up that bashes his primary opponent, Meg Whitman, for having “the same position on illegal immigration as the president of Mexico.”
Last week, state Insurance Commissioner Poizner released a web video that claimed Whitman used to sell porn when she ran eBay.
In the latest Poizner campaign offering, a narrator intones, “Do you want a governor who has the same position on illegal immigration as the president of Mexico?”
The ad then compares a video of Mexican President Felipe Calderon saying “I strongly disagree with your recently adopted law in Arizona” with a video of Whitman saying “If that law were to come before m, I would oppose it.”
