Obama To Host Facebook Townhall Meeting April 20

President Barack Obama is taking to the Web later this month to host a Facebook townhall, focusing on the economy and budget.

Obama will hold the virtual townhall April 20 from Facebook’s headquarters in Palo Alto, California, ABC News reports, where he’ll field selected questions.

“The President will connect with Americans across the country to discuss the tough choices we must all make to put our economy on a more responsible fiscal path, while still investing in the innovation economy that makes America more competitive,” the White House’s announcement reads.

Those without a Facebook account can submit questions via a form on the White House’s website. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg will join the president, ABC reports.

As of Tuesday evening, hours after the announcement, more than 4,000 Facebook users had confirmed their attendance. Dozens of comments were posted on the event’s page, ranging in seriousness from “Can we trade the three wars for universal health care?” to “i like u.”
