"I am extremely proud of my husband, I have tremendous respect for for him," Bachmann said. "I am running for the presidency of the United States. My husband is not running for the presidency. Neither are my children, neither is our business, neither is our foster children."

"I am more than happy to stand for questions about running for the presidency of the United States," she added.

Critics have made bales of hay out of Marcus Bachmann as Michele's campaign has spooled up. They've accused Marcus of being a homophobe as well as at times questioning his sexual orientation.

Though Bachmann wouldn't take any questions on the topic, she said she knew that probably won't keep the press from digging into her personal life.

"i am running for the presidency of the United States and I have no doubt that every jot and tittle of my life will be fully looked at and inspected prior to November 2012," she said.

Bachmann addressed a crowd in Washington today at the National Press Club.
