Don’t be surprised if someone asks you if you love freedom this Thursday. The national organizers of Tea Party Patriots have singled out Dec. 3 for a national recruitment drive, calling on all good tea partiers “to reach out to 1 new person who is not a member of Tea Party Patriots” and ask them to join up.

From the TPP email sent to tea partiers today and obtained by TPM:

Tell them why you are a member of the tea party movement and ask them if they agree with our core principles of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets … If you send emails, follow up with phone calls to the people to add a personal touch.

The TPP organizers say expanding the ranks of tea partiers is important now more than ever.
From the email:

It is imperative that we grow our membership in the coming weeks to continue to build momentum, communicate with like-minded Americans, and increase our effectiveness.

It’s set to be a busy week for tea partiers, with groups from Vermont and New York returning to Capitol Hill tomorrow to lobby senators to vote against the health care bill, according to the email. And on Wednesday, the tea party glitterati will gather in D.C. for the world premiere of Tea Party: The Movie.

There are signs the group is planning another health care tea party in D.C. along the lines of the one hosted by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) on Nov. 5.

From the TPP email:

[I]t looks like we are going to ask people from around the country to go back to DC on December 15th. We will have more details after the Leadership Conference Call and also after National Coordinators meet with a few other like-minded organizations this week. Do not make reservations yet, but do pencil it in on your calendars. We will have more details on these dates in the next day or two.
