The liberal group Patriot Majority has a new ad against Sharron Angle in the Nevada Senate race, attacking the Republican nominee for her praise last week of privatizing Social Security as it was done in Chile — a system that was enacted by the brutal military dictator Augusto Pinochet.
“Chile. A country once led by Augusto Pinochet, the military dictator and human rights violator,” the announcer says. “Chile’s privatization scheme has resulted in hidden fees… fewer benefits… and millions of people with no coverage.”
“Privatize. Phase out. Pinochet,” the announcer says, cut in with video of Angle’s talking up Chile. “Another day and another bad idea from Sharron Angle. What’s next?
The TPM Poll Average currently puts Harry Reid ahead by 46.4%-43.8%.
