Kasich: 'My Life Is A Lot Better' Without Newspapers

Yeah! Why do newspapers insist on exposing public corruption, rating the weekend's best movies and publishing crossword puzzles? Who needs all that noise dragging them down?

Kasich's speech, as the American Independent reports, was focusing on so-called "look-backs," where the government tracks down overpayments of welfare and Social Security benefits. Kasich recently saw a large newspaper headline on the story.

As TPM readers know, Kasich was recently handed a defeat in a referendum on a hugely unpopular anti-public employee union law. Ohio voters emphatically rejected the law. We're guessing more than a few newspapers covered the story.
