It was inevitable: after virtually all the Democratic leaders in Washington — including President Obama — called on Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) to step down, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) wasn’t going to argue.

Boehner was asked by a reporter Tuesday if he too thought Weiner should resign. Boehner has a quick answer, according to The Hill.

“Yes.”

That makes Boehner just the latest Republican to jump on the Weiner resignation bandwagon, following House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) who called on him to leave days ago.

Weiner is on a two-week leave of absence from the House while he sorts out his personal problems with a professional. On Monday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) made it clear she doesn’t want him to come back to Congress.
