Is Mike Huckabee running for president? Polls show he’d be a serious contender if he does, though few seem to know exactly what he’s planning. That could change this weekend.

In an tweet and on the radio today, Huckabee is teasing “a very important announcement” for this Saturday.

ABC News’s Michael Falcone picked up on the radio announcement, which came on Huck’s syndicated show, “The Huckabee Report.”

On Twitter, Huckabee told his fans to “Be sure to check my media schedule for today and the weekend.” On his PAC website, that schedule lists numerous Fox News appearances including his own show, “Huckabee,” which airs Saturday nights.

Though he’s been on the short list for potential Republican presidential contenders from the beginning, Huckabee’s been in the headlines most recently for selling something other than his experience as Governor of Arkansas. This week, he surprised many with his new DVD series, which promise to present an “unbiased” view of American history for kids.

And next month, while other candidates are furiously raising funds for the expensive Republican primary, Huckabee will be hosting an Alaskan cruise. In April, a Huckabee adviser told CNN that any presidential announcement will come “in ‘early to mid-summer.'”
