Howard Dean Pens Fundraising E-mail For Alan Grayson

Congressman Alan Grayson is a healthcare hero.

In the depths of last summer while many Democrats had lost the message scrambling under Republican attacks, Rep. Grayson brought the debate back to what's most important: helping sick Americans and the uninsured get the coverage they need.

And he did it by going on offense.

He exposed the Republican healthcare plan as Don't Get Sick, and if you do, Die Quickly. Grayson changed the debate and put the Republicans on the defensive right before the first House vote in November. He's never been afraid to call Republicans out on their obstructionism and he isn't going to start now.

Alan Grayson is standing up for us. Now, we need to stand up for him.

Alan Grayson helped build the movement around the public option and giving Americans the right to buy into Medicare that has kept the public option debate alive to this day. For one, he supported the work of DFA members when he helped my brother Jim personally deliver over 300,000 petition signatures directly to Senate offices last month.

He's also led the way on the floor of the House with his stand alone bill -- the "Public Option Act" -- which would open access to Medicare for all Americans and has already gotten over 80 cosponsors in the House.

Alan Grayson is a #1 target of the Republican Party. They want to silence his voice. They want nothing more than to replace him with some shill who will do the bidding of insurance and Wall Street lobbyists.

We can't let that happen. Already, over a thousand people have contributed over $40,000. I believe in supporting people-powered candidates. I hope you'll join me and the cause. $50 from Americans who want Democrats with spines can turn into $500,000 overnight.

Please join thousands of others and chip in for a Congressman with Guts. Contribute now.

Thank you for your time and your support of this healthcare hero.
