Fundraising Group Led By GOP All-Stars Raises Big Money In June

Turns out that American Crossroads, the group backed by Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie, among others, to raise money for Republican candidates, is pulling in the dough after all: The group says it raised $8.5 million in June, according to Politico.American Crossroads, which has vowed to raise $52 million this cycle, drew snickers after it was reported that it raised only $200 in May. But the latest figures are nothing to laugh at.

American Crossroads president Steven Law told Politico that the total was combined between the group and a newer offshoot called American Crossroads GPS.

“For us it’s a down payment on what we expect to do in the months ahead, and we’re going to continue to be just as aggressive in July,” Law said.
