Colbert And Stewart To Bush: Come On Our Shows!

Views

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert last night did their best to entice former President George W. Bush to come on their shows, offering easy interviews and tasty gifts.

Following the release of his memoir “Decision Points,” Bush has embarked on a media blitz, and is set to appear on, as Stewart lamented, “NBC, CBS, Fox, Fox, Fox, and Fox and more Fox … you get the point.” But alas, not The Daily Show or The Colbert Report.“Why no love? Was it the eight years of nonstop mocking?” Stewart asked. Then, to sweeten the deal, Stewart even offered Bush a set of steak knives and a 1994 McRib sandwich, “virtually waterboard-ed in delicious sauce.”

Colbert also promised the former president a smooth interview, previewing his first question: “You: Great president or greatest president?”

He also had high praise for “Decision Points,” saying, “it’s like ‘War and Peace,’ but without all that peace.”
