Missouri Senate candidate Robin Carnahan (D) slammed her opponent, Rep. Roy Blunt (R), in a new statewide television ad issued today over everything from banking deregulation to his leadership during the bailout negotiations in 2008 to the reported $1.6 million in contributions he took from Wall Street.
Carnahan’s ad indicates that data on the $1.6 million in donations from Wall Street comes from the Center for Responsive Politics: in actuality, Blunt received about $986,000 from the financial services sector in the 2010 election cycle alone, and closer to $3.6 million from it over the course of his Congressional career.
