Vice President Joe Biden told Jay Leno on Friday that he wanted to make something very clear — “It wasn’t my idea” to send redheaded Russian spy Anna Chapman back home in a swap for captured U.S. spies. He added: “I thought maybe they’d take Rush Limbaugh or something.”

Biden was on The Tonight Show on Friday, and was asked why the United States released ten spies back to Russia, but only got four back in return.

“We got back four really good ones,” said Biden. After Leno showed a picture of Chapman, Biden added: “Let me make it clear. It wasn’t my idea to send her back.”
