Occupy protestors in Los Angeles were evicted from their encampment earlier this week, and sanitation officials on Wednesday said they are expecting to haul away 30 tons of debris from the cleared camp, the Los Angeles Times reports.

So what does 30 tons of debris look like? Everything from books and CDs, luggage, stereos, cell phones, furniture, mattresses and more. The LA Times also reports that sanitation crews vacuumed up about 3,000 gallons of water that had been collected. It’s being tested for hazardous material.

Police hauled away a sizable cache of possessions from Zuccotti Park in New York last month. A New York Department of Sanitation spokesperson did not respond to a request inquiring how Zuccotti’s haul compares to Los Angeles’.

While NYC officials did allow owners a chance to come and claim their possessions, the process was criticized as being exceedingly onerous. It wasn’t immediately clear whether L.A. authorities would allow for a process of reclamation.
