We've officially had a week of "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" and Stephen Colbert The Character was no where to be found. That's a good thing, says TPM’s Caitlin Cruz.

Colbert's strength on Comedy Central was his ability to illicit incredible interviews from his guests and "The Late Show" gives him a format to excel. He's interviewed actors, politicians, CEOs and musicians. But his best interview so far was with Vice President Joe Biden. Colbert and Biden — united in an understanding of deep grief — talked God, 2016, children and recovery.
