Aides to Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) complained that their campaign staff would be forced to work in tiny greenrooms that resembled bathrooms during the CNBC Republican presidential debate. BUZZING: Today in the Hive

From a TPM Prime member: “The thing to also watch is where the evangelical vote goes. Right now, it’s Carson. This is why Iowa is trending big for him, as that state has a fairly large evangelical base, but less so in NH. Trump is clearly not part of the evangelical camp, and as time goes on, he will have very limited support from the Bible-thumpers. You may want an “Evangelical/Non-evangelical” spectrum. Also, Trump has hit his ceiling. He has alienated some GOP women – there’s no way he hasn’t. So, they won’t go back to him. Also, I think Trump’s novelty has begun to wear off, and as time goes by, people will begin to wonder about his temperament and cast around for others. I think it’s no coincidence that his temperament opposite, Carson, is rising as Trump is falling.”
