A conservative backlash is already emerging against the “counteroffer” to President Obama made yesterday by Speaker Boehner and the House GOP leadership. That’s ironic since the White House (and most budget experts) saw the counteroffer as a combination of magical math and few substantive concessions. But it’s still an open questions whether that’s a sign Boehner is already losing his right flank or merely a negotiating feint.
