From the Las Vegas Sun …

Investigators today arrested a Southern Nevada woman suspected of trying to vote twice this week at two different polling locations.

Roxanne Rubin was taken into custody as she arrived for work at the Riviera hotel-casino, investigators said. Rubin, 56, is a registered Republican who lives in Henderson, according to the Clark County Registrar.

Voting twice is a problem. That’s one more time than allowed.

The fact that this woman is a Republican really has no more than poetic significance. Vote fraud is rare. Impersonation fraud is exceedingly rare. And when it happens it is virtually never organized. It happens and we have laws to combat it. But one party has wildly exaggerated and demagogued the issue as a cudgel to stop people from legitimately voting. And that’s a very big deal.

So, yes, every time a Republican gets nabbed like this it’s worth pointing out to combat the Republican fable that voter fraud is something black people, ACORN, Mexicans, illegal aliens and whoever else do to steal elections from good Republicans.
