NBC/Marist is out with two new polls show Mitt Romney in a tough position going into election day.
Ohio: Obama 51%, Romney 45%
Florida: Obama 49%, Romney 47%
These numbers are broadly in line with recent polls, though the Florida numbers have been a bit more all over the map. Earlier this evening Mason-Dixon reported Romney 51%, Obama 45% in Florida.
But in terms of the big picture, Florida doesn’t have to matter. Obama can lose Florida and still win handily. Romney needs to win Florida, Ohio and probably a couple other states to win.
