NC Candidate: I’m No Mitt Romney!

In North Carolina House debate, Republican Mark Meadows tells voters: I’m no Mitt Romney!

From the Citizen-Times

Republican congressional candidate Mark Meadows said he’s different than GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and would represent all citizens in the 11th Congressional District.

A video surfaced this week of Romney telling wealthy supporters that 47 percent of Americans pay no federal income taxes and “believe they are victims” entitled to help from the government.

Meadows made his comments Tuesday in a live, in-studio, forum at WLOS-TV during the evening newscast.

“It might come as a surprise, but Mitt Romney didn’t call me before he made those comments and ask for my advice,” Meadows said.

Meadows said voters in the 11th Congressional District are not as easy to define as Romney’s comments seemed to try to do.

“I’m concerned about all 750,000 people,” he said of his district. “I am here to represent the people of this district.”
