For a variety of reasons, I’ve felt for a while that Virginia is the pivotal state in this year’s presidential election. And the PollTracker Average just pushed the state into the Romney column with a 3.6 point margin. And that moves the TPM Electoral Scoreboard to Obama 250, Romney 237.
But here’s the catch. The poll is from We Ask America, a GOP pollster, whose numbers this year have trended heavily Republican. They were one of the few pollsters that significantly overstated the margin of Scott Walker’s victory in the Wisconsin recall election.
Very eager to see another pollster do a sounding of Virginia.
