“I don’t know what I was thinking.” Calls his own behavior “destructive” and “dumb.”
“I regret not being honest about this. … I was embarrassed. I was humiliated.”
“This is not something that can be treated away.”
Weiner says his online relationships involved some 6 women. “Some of these relationships date back as long as three years.” Weiner has been married since last year.
Weiner says he didn’t ‘fess up to his wife until this morning.
According to Weiner, he never met any of these women, was never in the same room with them and never had sexual contact with them.
Weiner plans to run for reelection.
