Chris Cilliza at the Post is reporting that Sen. Herb Kohl will announce today that he’s retiring from the Senate. Any Wisconsin open senate seat is competitive by definition. But remember, this is Wisconsin. And the election in that state, in addition to being the presidential election will also be the referendum on the big Republican push to shut down the state’s union movement. A lot on the line.
