Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said in an interview aired Sunday that his endorsement from Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio means he’s the “toughest on the border.”

Arpaio and Trump participated in the birther movement during President Obama’s campaign for the White House, pushing for the candidate to release his birth certificate. Arpaio endorsed Trump for the presidency last week.

Trump said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that he had endorsements from “very important people,” and mentioned Arpaio’s name.

“Toughest guy,” Trump said. “He endorsed Trump. You know what that means? I’m toughest on the border.”
