Donald Trump insulted his Republican rival Carly Fiorina’s physical appearance during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine published on Wednesday.

The real estate mogul was watching the news and providing his own play-by-play aboard his private jet. After mocking Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), Fiorina appeared on the television, prompting Trump to remark, “Look at that face!” Per Rolling Stone:

When the anchor throws to Carly Fiorina for her reaction to Trump’s momentum, Trump’s expression sours in schoolboy disgust as the camera bores in on Fiorina. “Look at that face!” he cries. “Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!” The laughter grows halting and faint behind him. “I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”

Fox News’ Megyn Kelly asked Fiorina to respond to Trump’s comments during a Wednesday night interview.

“Well, I think those comments speak for themselves,” Fiorina responded, adding that the “many, many, many, thousands of voters” who support her are “very serious.”

Kelly then asked Fiorina what she thinks Trump meant by his remark.

“I have no idea,” Fiorina said in response. “Honestly Megyn, I’m not going to spend a single cycle wondering what Donald Trump means. But maybe, just maybe, I’m getting under his skin a little bit because I am climbing in the polls.”

During a Thursday morning interview on “Fox and Friends,” Trump was asked if he did in fact make the comments quoted in Rolling Stone.

The real estate mogul first noted that “the pictures in the magazine were magnificent” and that “overall, it was probably a pretty good story.”

He then said, “Probably I did say something like that about Carly,” adding later that he said it “in a jocular manner.” He also said it wasn’t about her appearance.

“I’m talking about persona. I’m not talking about looks,” he said on Fox.
