Vance McAllister, a Republican of Louisiana, waits to be sworn in at the Capitol in Washington. McAllister says he's asking his family and constituents for forgiveness after a West Monroe newspaper published a video that it says shows the congressman kissing a female staffer in his congressional office in Monroe, La. McAllister, only in office a little over four months, attracted national attention because of his endorsement from the bearded men of the "Duck Dynasty" reality TV show. (AP Photo/J. Rep. Vance McAllister (R-LA), the congressman caught kissing a staffer, did not advance to the runoff election in his Louisiana House race, according to The Hill.

Democratic candidate Jamie Mayo will run against Ralph Abraham or Zach Dasher, the two Republican candidates who have pulled the most votes in the race. Votes are still being counted in the race, so it’s not yet clear whether Abraham or Dasher will advance.

McAllister was running against eight challengers.
