Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) won’t be attending New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s inaugural address Tuesday.

Booker’s office confirmed to TPM that the junior senator from New Jersey would not be attending the speech.

“Sen. Booker has back-to-back meetings and will not be in attendance,” Booker press secretary Monique Waters told TPM.

Christie, who has been engulfed in questions about the George Washington Bridge scandal, does not plan to focus on that topic in his speech. Instead his office said he plans to focus his speech on how to make New Jersey a more inclusive, bipartisan state.
